Well! There are several things that I could - and will - say at this point...Firstly: (mincingly) "Yewwww were never a TRUE Christian!Nextly: "This is God! Congratulations, My Son, you passed the test - welcome to the club!"Or, how about "This is Satan! Congratulations, my son, you passed the test - welcome to the club!"Or... well, the rest of the things have slipped my mind: next time I'll take notes first.Sorry about your loosing your family, job, etc., but at least you can now live with yourself.
Good vid. The god you lost, was only the definition of a personal god that really can't hold up to scrutiny. The personal god, I was hoodwinked to believe in, came crashing when I started asking the tough questions. One of the tough questions was, How does God really love me? I have been told over and over again god loves me. I don't see it. God does not love us, even remotely, the way humanity is capable of love and god, absolutely, doesn't love us the way we love our children. He doesn't wipe away tears, or hold you to comfort you, he doesn't kiss you on the forehead, hug you, pat you on the back, just sit with you when you are down and out, doesn't pick you up when you stumble, or he doesn't tell you everything is going to be OK, when you are grieving. As a father, I am responsible for my children, I feed them, clothe them, give them something to drink when they are thirsty, comfort them, give them a roof over their head, protect them from harm. shield them from disease, put up with their waywardness and under no circumstance lay a hand on them to cause them harm, but if their is this supposed personal god; he does the exact opposite of all these things to his earthly children every second of every day. The only loving personal god that exists is in the minds of delusional christians.
To answer the question? No.I have scrutinized every claimed version of God. None of them hold up to scrutiny. The religious will always fall back on their logical fallacies, and if they can get you to admit one remote supernatural possibility, they're on you like flies to a corpse. But the fact is, every version of God fails to live up to the hype, so why should we keep kidding ourselves that there might be a version of God out there that meets requirements we haven't thought of yet? It's time to fess up, religious people: there is no God. You have only yourselves to blame.
I agree with sconnor. The only true god is the mindgod. However, the mindgod differs in many ways in the different minds he resides in, so there are literally millions of different gods. I do wish people will wake up before someone like Mike Yuckabee wins the presidensy. No spelling errors there, as our president is dense, and Mike is a yuck.Great video. Keep'em coming.
If there is a god why do we have to be taught about him...?Shouldn't we already know? That was my first question that started my gears moving...
Ridiot, I am truly sorry for all your hardships. I too was raised as a Christian, baptised at age seven or so. As a teenager, I was involved in evangelical work and led a number of people to Christ. Fortunately, I got out before I made any major decisions in my life - at about age 20. No, there is no god. I tried so hard for so many years to make Him real in my life, but He just ignored me. He behaved just like He wasn't there - because He wasn't. It was all in my mind.
Ridiot,I love your videos. This one was especially powerful. I have your Story of Noah on my Myspace. It’s caused quite a stir because most people don’t know I’ve “left the faith. It’s so true this isn’t a game…it is devastating. I knew it would be when I started to really seek the truth, but how do you stop? If you are a thinking person you simply cannot and once you know, you can’t un-know. Maybe if someone is a “nominal Christian,” they can leave and it’s no big deal-they kind of fly under the radar. When you are in a leadership position as you were and I was; I think it’s just too scary for them, because they know that we knew. When I came out to my sister, she said, among other things, “There’s nothing I can tell you, no scripture, no argument that you haven’t already heard.” “And yet I don’t believe it anymore. Doesn’t that tell you anything?” I asked her. She said it told her that the Devil had blinded me. What do you do with that? My thought was similar to yours; if the Devil really did blind me and God is sovereign…then…well…I’m just screwed. I don’t believe that for one minute and among all the hurt and loss of friends and family…I have never felt so free to think and live. I appreciate life so much more now. I wouldn’t go back in the box even if I could. Thanks for posting.
this video is great man
Yeah, losing friends and even your loved ones seems to happen often when you turn apostate to Christianity. Well, that and ranting about the Christanity constantly with the friends that weren't Christan in the first place and hate it as much as you do. I'm glad to see these kinds of videos popping up on the internet.
This video is on the right track...I was raised a christian till at the age of 35, took it upon myself to study the bible in depth. You said it best ," if I can trust the bible" then your faith is in real trouble. I have watched the types of Dawkins, Hitchens...repeatadly on talk shows, answering the SAME questions time and time again. THE THING IS, IS THAT AS REASONABLE RESPONMES AS THEY ARE TO THE SAME OL questions, its getting them nowhere...IT ISNT THE RATIONAL WE NEED TO CONVINCE,BECASUE NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU SAY THE BIBLE IS NOT TRUE, OR THE 10 COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT GODS RULES THEY ARE OURS.....IT BOUNCES RIGHT OFF THE CHRISTIAN MENTALITY.....THE ONLY WAY I THINK,IS WHAT YOU DID AT THE END OF YOUR VIDEO,,,,,USE THE BIBLE AGAINST ITSELF, BECAUSE IF YOU MOW OVER A WEED, IT WILL GROW RIGHT BACK. THE WEED IS RELIGION(FUNDAMENTALISM)......THE ROOT IS THE SCRIPTURE....YANK THE ROOT OUT
I guess I'm lucky that my upbringing was not so strong with religion. I'm glad for you that you have gone to the rational side. I'm sorry it created upheavals in your life, but I think as you reach out to the rational community, you will find a more solid kind of fellowship there.
Can you trust any historical book based on the assumptions posed by this video?
