"A Sabbatical?" or "My Anti-Testimony"
I first posted this "testimony" to the web on July 27, 2001. If you too have found Christianity specifically, or religion generally, to be less than satisfying for any reason, please consider posting your own "testimony" to this site by clicking here , or message me by clicking here. I t is invariably a shock to Evangelical Christians to come across someone who has turned his or her back on the “faith was once delivered unto the saints.” Most believers will quickly dismiss an ex-Christian by piously pointing out that anyone who turns away from Christ was never a real believer. Or, as an insider might say it, “They were never born again.” There is Biblical support for the assertion. 1 John 2:19, which addressed the problem of First Century apostates, states that: “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us....

Very Cool graphics but I'm still not overly impressed. Islam is just another Pagan religion with Mohammad plagurizing(sic) the OT..
And so is Christianity, if you care to look at the nature of Pagan Man Gods. Mark is a repackaging of Jesus to read as a Greek play (the Jews had no theatrical tradition, so the whole structure of Mark is foreign. Thus the same can be said for Matt and Luke) John is an oddity, since its predominately a saying gospel in the Jewish tradtion, with anti-Jewish glosses added. The Apocryphal Sayings Gospel of Thomas is probably the best surviving example of what Jesus taught, before it all became the cult of Mithras with a new name. :)
I always condider the post Nicea incarnation of Christianity rather like an arch... all of the stuff that was used to get it where it is has been removed and dumped. Take a look at the infancy Gospel of 'Thomas' (not the same Thomas of the sayings, but in interpolation on Luke) as an example of how pagan Christian thought was in the early days... and how it was sold to the Romans and the Greeks... The body count is impressive.

Grandpa Harley.
Great video btw. Fundamentalist Islam is scary.
Most appropriate !!!!
What?...and the KKK ISN'T scary?
ALL religion is scary.
Anonymous (why didn´t you use your own name?), Mohammed indeed plagiarized the Bible. And you know why? Because he had seen it worked. And he figured: Hey, if they can do it, so can I. And he was right.
It doesn´t matter whether what you say is true, anonymous... it only matters that what you tell people is what they, at some level, want to hear. Tell them they can be special. Tell them that they can be on God´s side. Tell them that it is OK to hate people - in the name of God (yes, Jesus said it, too).
Sounds a lot like what the Devil´s supposed to do, isn´t it?
R.E.M. did a song called The End of the World As We Know it, which is also one of my favorites
The video is a great statement of how religion has taken over our planet like a pandemic disease.
I think to myself in these days of constant turmoil that the human condition is sad. People are still killing one another in the name of made up gods our ancestors invented. The fact that so many still believe this superstition makes me wonder if this planet will survive the ignorance of individuals who would rather destroy it so whatever god they believe in will come take them to a place called euphoria.
Have you ever read what Hitler had to say in regards to Christianity? Have you read anything on the subject?
It's not what you know, it's who you know. So let's not "neglect the assembling of ourselves together."
I imagine it wasn't your intention, but you just added some weight to the argument against relgion.
Thanks.
