- Planet A: Has apparently achieved a state of advanced benign equilibrium in which there are no viruses or diseases, and only a very small number of natural disasters, which, when they do strike, always eliminate only the sinful and evil. The inhabitants, both plant and animal, have learned to maintain their existence through photosynthesis, and thus do not have to kill and eat each other in order to survive. There are no "birth defects;" every inhabitant comes into existence perfectly formed and equipped for a long and productive life.
Deity Y_____
- Planet B: Adorned with many examples of beauty and order, it is also constantly beset by hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, volcanoes, lightning bolts, viruses, disfiguring diseases, parasites, leeches, flies, crop-destroying pests and many other phenomena which afflict both the innocent and the evil. Every life form on the planet can only sustain its existence through the destruction and consumption of other life forms. Some of the inhabitants are born with a crippling condition called a "birth defect", which condemns them to living extremely limited, short, or painful lives.

- Shiva, who wants you to pray over his penis;

May his iron age deity have mercy on him, if he ever goes to "Jesus Never Existed" and spends any time reading, but of course we know that won't happen!
Dan
anyway, great work zack!
Even, this little quiz is just a tip of the iceberg. If you are questioning things now and the quiz made you uncomfortable, best stop investigating if you want to keep your faith. But if you want to break the chains of brainwashing and free yourself of the need of an imaginary friend, then I urge you to keep questioning, researching and particularily, reading the bible with a critical and unbiased eye. Once you start seeing the bible for what it is, chance are you'll give up the belive in this tribal goat herder god. -Vixentrox-
My challenge to Xians: Please read the Bible with a critical eye and you may change your mind about your beliefs. You will not want to continue believing in a Genocidal Maniac or an Ass-God.
This quiz did not make me feel uncomfortable. As I stated I actually enjoyed it. Some of the subjects brought up were ideas I struggled with, but found answers which satisfied me. Other issues I am still wrestling with. I applaud the author for their writing style and thought process.
I have a question about your notion that I best stop investigating or else I would lose my faith. Are you implying that it is impossible for one who is truly seeking truth to believe in a higher being?
I have and you are correct. I don't discount that any of you were authentic strong christians. At the same time I could point you to other forums where intelligent atheists have "converted" to christianity based of their interpretation of evidence.
Would you mind answering my original question?
I have a question about your notion that I best stop investigating or else I would lose my faith. Are you implying that it is impossible for one who is truly seeking truth to believe in a higher being?
I'll take a crack at your question about being an authentic truth seeker and still believing in a higher being.
I think it is possible to think that there might be a higher being, but myself, and I think a lot of others here, can't fathom the idea of being a critical thinker and still believe in an inerrant god-breathed bible. To take it a step further, the concept of a wonderful, loving god that gives scattered and dubious evidence for belief and then tosses into hell those who use their "god-given" logic and reason is just ludicrous.
So it is not so much a higher being that people have an issue with, its this uncritical view of the bible, or any other holy book, as god's perfect word that is the problem. And the foundations of christianity seem to falter when I really look at the bible critically.
Thanks for the clarification. I was referred to this post by Francois Tremblay, where it was posted by member "Miles Rationis," with no additional attribution.
You are correct, the same examination is also found at the Ebon Musings website, where it is attributed to "Anonymous."
