I first posted this "testimony" to the web on July 27, 2001. If you too have found Christianity specifically, or religion generally, to be less than satisfying for any reason, please consider posting your own "testimony" to this site by clicking here , or message me by clicking here. I t is invariably a shock to Evangelical Christians to come across someone who has turned his or her back on the “faith was once delivered unto the saints.” Most believers will quickly dismiss an ex-Christian by piously pointing out that anyone who turns away from Christ was never a real believer. Or, as an insider might say it, “They were never born again.” There is Biblical support for the assertion. 1 John 2:19, which addressed the problem of First Century apostates, states that: “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us....
You are baptized by naturalstic science.
ReplyDeleteMiracles you supposes irrational can be explored in the area of science.
To be sure, the science I mentions is remote of the naturalstic science.
The Bible clearly proclaims that God is the cause of miracles done in history. The principles of causation is applied to miracles.
The miracle of turning water into wine in the book of John is recorded not to make you only fun, but to make you know who Jesus is.
If you turn back on the secular mind contaminated by naturaslim and assum God as the casue of miracels, you will have no problem with miracles.
If you deny the existnece of God, you will continue to pursue only fun in your entire life. Keep in mind that you are created to seek more than fun you stress on.
How so? Just because I think the show would be better if they took out the religion, puts me in the same boat? With who though?
ReplyDeleteI might settle for trolls that made sense.
ReplyDeleteThe Bible...blablabla, The Bible...blablabla, The Bible...blablabla. Get a clue, no one here give a sh!t what your buy-bull says. Stop coming here and quoting from it. To quote Bill Mahr in reference to the King James Bible- I'd find more morality in the Rick James Bible"
ReplyDeleteAnd he's right. The Buybull is a sorry piece of bronze-age sh!t.
You didn't understand anything he said and neither, I suspect, did he.
ReplyDeletePuts you and him in the same boat, Mriana.
ReplyDeleteLol. Seriously. I wasn't sure if I understood anything eungchan said ...
ReplyDeleteHoney, if this site is making you so stressed out that you cannot make any sense at all, it's time for you to take a break. Watch some Veggie Tales or something.
ReplyDelete"Has it ever occurred to you that heaven might be a very annoying place?"
ReplyDeleteYes. Yes it has.
Thanks for posting this.
I don't like the current pope. Just looking at him gives me the creeps.
ReplyDeleteThat was funny though. Thanks for sharing. :)
Nope. I rarely understand the Fundies who come here. lol
ReplyDeleteOo! Veggie Tales. Talking vegetables and fruits. :D They are cute, but can't they be a normal kids' show? That would really make the talking veggies and fruits great. Except, I wouldn't want to eat those veggies. They seem to be some sort of accentiant (spelling?) life form because they talk. lol
ReplyDeleteOK so I have a weird side to myself. Actually, Veggie Tales got on my nerves! However, if they were a normal kids' show, they might not be too bad.
Wasn't that the missing verse from a Beatles song:
ReplyDelete"Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream,
Unto salvation, unto salvation.
Delusional, though living, still, the dream,
Justification, Justification.
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the average troll!
So what miracles has God done lately? Raised anyone from the dead? Regrown any congenital limb amputations?
ReplyDelete…
…
Thought not.
Thanks for this point you made though, "if you turn your back on the secular mind contaminated by naturalism (not naturaslim, the diet supplement) and assume God as the cause of miracles, you will have no problem with miracles."
Turn your brain off and just believe, then it all makes sense, right? Thanks for being honest about that.
Give up all varieties of ritual and simply surrender to Me, I will protect you from all reactions.

ReplyDelete@eungchang -
ReplyDeleteLet's see, naturalism is defined as - "behavior or thought conforming to the state of nature." I would take that to mean empirically observable reality. I would definitely rather have my mind contaminated by reality as opposed to whatever your bizarre dogma may be. You don't have the slightest idea if any of us were baptized, into what faith, or if we even consider baptism meaningful. Choose your words carefully, they will betray intelligence or ignorance. The only thing that would make me believe in miracles now is if all these nasty trolls would disappear.
If I were to assume that gravity happens as the result of two tethered goats at opposite ends of the universe working in tandem, would I come to a cohesive view of how the universe works? Of course I would not.
ReplyDeleteWhy, then, should I assume a god, for whom there is about as much evidence as there is for the aforementioned goats?
eungchan, you are completely off your trolley and should begin taking the medication again.
